"It's not what we do, it is how we do it."
As a member of the Rutgers Women's Rowing Team and School of Engineering, I hold myself to a high standard in the classroom and out on the water. In every challenge I tackle, I believe that it is how crucial to focus on the steps and morals it takes to achieve success rather than fixating merely on success itself. As a student-athlete, I focus on (1) consistency, (2) pacing, (3) attitude, and (4) effort in everything that I do. I aim to be consistent with my habits, always studying and training to aim for and achieve high goals on tests and workouts. I focus on my pacing myself and realize that success takes time, whether it is expanding my fitness or my knowledge. I believe that tackling challenges with enthusiasm, whether it is as an individual or in a collaborative environment, is the best approach to improve, foster innovation, and enjoy problem-solving difficult problems. Last but certainly not least, I will always give every obstacle my best effort and be proud of my results. When I fumble, I will always keep my head up and keep moving forward until I succeed.
Moreover, my team was taught me the value of teamwork. My team has taught me the value of working hard on an individual and collective level to achieve great progress. This past season, our team made program history since its creation in 1864, ranked 4th in the country and winning the most metals in a season at the B1G 10 Championship. These great accomplishments would not have been possibly if it weren't for myself along with all my teammates training hard every day, giving our best efforts at practice every day, and working as a team to strive towards our goals.
